Balanced Peer Support

Balanced Peer Support Services is an independent provider of confidential, peer-led support for people working in safety-sensitive, high-pressure industries, including mining, construction and resources. Founded by a mining professional with more than 20 years of firsthand industry experience, the organisation aims to bridge the gap between workplace policies and personal recovery. Its non-clinical approach draws on lived experience to offer practical, relatable guidance without judgment.

Services include early intervention for emerging substance-use and wellbeing concerns, confidential support after positive drug or alcohol tests, post-incident assistance, and career transition and reintegration support. The organisation also provides peer support programs, substance-use education, mental health and wellbeing support, and family and community engagement. With an individual’s consent, family members can participate in support sessions.

Balanced Peer Support Services works independently of HR and disciplinary teams, creating a private space for honest conversations. It supports individuals as they consider next steps and partners with companies seeking incident response or proactive workforce wellbeing support.
