Balance Occupational Therapy by Bríd Dunn supports children and young people in Aberdeen through personal, compassionate occupational therapy. The practice takes an individual-first, neurodiversity-friendly approach, tailoring support to each child’s strengths, needs and goals rather than focusing solely on a diagnosis. It works with children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, sensory processing needs and Down syndrome.
Following an initial conversation, families can choose an online consultation or an in-person assessment at the Huntly Street location. Assessments are shaped around the child’s age and development, with findings and suggested next steps reviewed with families. Goal-directed therapy can help develop gross and fine motor skills, self-care, visual perception, organisation, handwriting, emotional regulation and confidence, supporting participation in daily life and learning. Sessions are designed to be engaging and focused on practical progress and growing independence.
