Balinde is an independent literary center dedicated to promoting and celebrating Kurdish poetry. It operates without affiliation to any governmental or non-governmental organization, focusing primarily on the translation and dissemination of poetry in Kurdish and other languages. Balinde’s central mission is to enhance access to world poetry in the Kurdish language while also translating Kurdish poetry into various languages.

The center hosts a variety of activities, including the publication of poetry collections and research articles, as well as organizing engaging discussions with poets. One of its significant initiatives is the annual Balinde Message, delivered by a prominent international poet on World Poetry Day, March 21, emphasizing the importance of poetry in today's world.

Additionally, Balinde features a program called "Dengworeng," which includes selected readings of Kurdish poetry and interviews with poets, establishing a vibrant dialogue within the poetic community. Balinde invites collaboration from all those interested in advancing literary expression while highlighting the role of poetry in personal and social contexts.
