About Bali Process Regional Support Office
The Regional Support Office (RSO) of the Bali Process is a crucial cooperation mechanism established in 2012 to provide technical support and strengthen cooperation on refugee protection, international migration, and combatting human trafficking, people smuggling, and transnational crime. The RSO works with Member States and key stakeholders to develop practical initiatives, share knowledge and best practices, and translate ambitions into action and real-world impact. Through a regular program of training activities, events, workshops, and roundtables, the RSO helps Member States stay ahead of emerging issues, develop responses and solutions, and build capacity.
They also develop resources such as guides, policy papers, and training materials, and undertake research on priority challenges. The RSO welcomes collaboration and new ideas from Member States and invites law enforcement officers, border officials, policy makers, judicial personnel, and migration practitioners to partner with them. The RSO operates based on participatory and consultative engagement, inclusivity, adherence to international law and norms, and responsiveness to the needs of Member States
