Ballarat Tennis Club

Ballarat Real Tennis Club is a sporting club in Golden Point, Ballarat, Victoria, dedicated to real tennis, the historic indoor racquet sport often described as the original form of modern tennis. Set at 613 Main Road, at The Mercure Hotel, the club brings together heritage and contemporary competition in a welcoming community for players and visitors.

The club offers access to an expertly maintained court, court bookings, membership options and professional guidance. Newcomers and experienced players are encouraged to try the game, and the club’s professionals can provide information about playing and becoming a member. Real tennis is played on an asymmetrical indoor court, where walls and features such as the tambour and dedans shape each rally. Players use handmade balls and wooden racquets, while scoring includes the distinctive chase rule.

Alongside play, the club hosts social events and shares news, event calendars and information about the sport. Its team includes a head professional, assistant professional and consulting professional.
