Founded in 1986, Ballet BC is a collaborative and creation-based contemporary ballet company that has become a leader and resource in the world of contemporary dance. Led by Artistic Director Medhi Walerski, the company is known for its bold and innovative approach to dance. With a team of 20 dancers who are open-minded and curious artists, Ballet BC attracts top international talent.

Their distinctive style and approach have made a valuable contribution to the development of dance both locally and globally. Ballet BC presents a diverse repertoire of over 50 new works created since 2009, featuring choreographers such as William Forsythe, Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, Crystal Pite, and many others. In addition to their performances, Ballet BC is deeply committed to fostering creation and collaboration.

They also prioritize dance education opportunities, community engagement, and professional development activities to make dance accessible to all. With their new home on Granville Island in Vancouver, Ballet BC is poised to further their impact, exploring new avenues for engagement and collaboration while providing critical training opportunities for aspiring professional dancers.
