About Baltic-American Freedom Foundation
BAFF (Baltic-American Freedom Foundation) is an organization dedicated to fostering strong connections between Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and the United States. With a focus on economic growth and democratic values, BAFF provides various programs of education and exchange. Their mission is to deepen the ties between these regions through scholarships, internships, and funding opportunities.
BAFF offers several scholarship programs, including the Professional Internship Program for university students and recent graduates, and the Research Scholarship Program for professors and academia professionals. They also facilitate the Baltic-American Dialogue for educational institutions, government entities, business groups, and Baltic experts, as well as the Baltic-American Security Exchange (BASE) for Baltic and U.S. security experts. Additionally, BAFF runs the Leadership Academy for high school students.
Established in 2010, BAFF was authorized by USAID to fund educational exchange programs, collectively known as BAFF Scholarships. Administered by the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), BAFF has disbursed over $12 million in scholarships to over 500 participants.
Through their programs, BAFF aims to strengthen friendships and goodwill between the Baltic states and the United States, building a globally interdependent and diverse world.
