Bamboo Land is a brand rooted in a deep passion for bamboo and tropical plants. It all began in 1990 when Klas Nilsson started Bamboo Land as a hobby on a riverfront property he acquired. What started with a few clump divisions of Bambusa Multiplex and Bambusa Balcoa has now blossomed into a collection of over 100 species of the world's finest clumping bamboo varieties.

In addition to bamboo, Bamboo Land has also curated an impressive collection of gingers and heliconias, adding vibrant colors to their display gardens. Janne Nilsson, Klas's son, joined the family business as a bamboo nurseryman in 2006. He now leads the business, with Tarissa Nilsson, an expert in plants from her strong nursery background, in charge of the retail side.

Together, they are expanding Bamboo Land's offerings and have recently acquired a neighboring property for further expansion. They are currently building a new purpose-built retail garden center with a cafe overlooking the Burrum River, set to open in 2025.
