Bambú en Uruguay | Montevideo is a brand that advocates for the use of native bamboo in strategic locations throughout Uruguay. They aim to showcase the possibilities and properties of bamboo in design, architecture, and industry, while also researching the different species of bamboo found in the country. This project was established and developed by Katia Sei Fong in 2012.

Bambú en Uruguay has been selected by the Fondo Concursable de Cultura - Ministerio de Educación y Cultura in 2013, under the design category. It has been recognized as of Touristic Interest by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, with the support of the municipal governments of Río Negro, Tacuarembó, Artigas, and Montevideo, as well as the Chinese Embassy in Uruguay and Infantozzi. Through this project, Bambú en Uruguay aims to promote and disseminate the use of bamboo in Uruguay, contributing to the democratization and decentralization of cultural activities.

They organize exhibitions and events in different regions and departments of Uruguay to showcase their work. Bambú en Uruguay is committed to fostering equal access to cultural goods and stimulating cultural projects throughout the country
