Bangor Abbey Preschool is a child-centred early years setting based at Clandeboye Primary School in Bangor, County Down. Established in 1978, it has supported local families for decades and is proud to be part of the school community. Its warm, inclusive approach is built around the ethos “Play, Learn, Grow,” encouraging children’s curiosity through exploration, natural materials and opportunities to learn both indoors and outdoors.
The preschool offers up to 32 full-time, Education Authority-funded places across two classes for children in their preschool year. These classes follow the Northern Ireland Preschool Curriculum and are quality controlled by the Education Authority and the Early Years Team. A fee-paying prepre playgroup is also available from age two years and ten months, with a tailored curriculum to support each child’s development and transition to preschool. Lunch Club options are offered, alongside a summer scheme. Bangor Abbey Preschool is a registered Forest School and provides outdoor and forest-based activities.
