Bansko Film Fest is Bulgaria’s international festival of mountaineering and adventure cinema, bringing together films, athletes, filmmakers and outdoor enthusiasts in the mountain town of Bansko. Its 25th edition is scheduled for 18–22 November 2026, with venues across the foothills of the Pirin Mountains. The five-day program features film premieres and a competition across nine categories, alongside presentations by Bulgarian and international climbers and adventurers, meetings with filmmakers, discussions and ten photo exhibitions.

The festival also offers activities beyond the screen, including climbing competitions, cave exploration, contests, a culinary area, a festival bar, parties and festival merchandise. Its BanskofilmfestKIDS program introduces children and young people to outdoor activities and learning through open lessons, orienteering, climbing and cave exploration. Developed with the National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski,” the initiative has trained more than 400 children. Through stories of expeditions, extreme sports, nature and discovery, Bansko Film Fest aims to inspire audiences and bring the mountaineering and adventure community together.
