The British Association of Removers (BAR) is the UK trade association for removal companies, dedicated to promoting professional excellence and quality in the removals industry. It helps people find and check professional movers for household moves within the UK, international relocations and business moves, including workplace relocation. BAR also provides information about home, self and business storage, and connects customers with international associate movers based outside the UK.

For consumers, BAR membership offers assurance backed by annual external audits and a Chartered Trading Standards Institute-approved Code of Practice. Benefits include a payment guarantee scheme protecting eligible prepayments for home moves, plus access to independent ombudsman services for unresolved disputes. The BAR website features a mover search, guidance on choosing services and advice on what to do if something goes wrong.

BAR supports the removals trade through membership, partnerships, training, industry resources, conferences and initiatives such as BAR Young Movers. It also publishes news and information for consumers and industry members.
