Barbara Greb

Barbara Greb offers therapeutic and educational riding with Icelandic horses in Straubenhardt, in Germany’s northern Black Forest. Her service, known as Heilpädagogisches Reiten, supports children, young people, and adults through guided experiences with horses, outdoors in the surrounding woodland and meadows. Sessions are tailored to each person’s pace and needs, with the aim of encouraging physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development.

Activities with the horses can help build confidence, body awareness, balance, concentration, calm, and communication skills. The approach may also support people facing challenges such as anxiety, behavioral or developmental difficulties, physical limitations, emotional distress, or relationship and social difficulties. These are possible areas of support, not a diagnostic checklist.

Barbara Greb is a qualified social educator and diploma riding pedagogue, with additional training in systemic therapy. Her strengths-focused perspective informs her work with each participant. Her Icelandic horses are trained for therapeutic riding and are described as gentle, cooperative, and well suited to this setting.
