About Barbara Tricarico
Barbara Tricarico is a passionate photographer and author based in Ashland, Oregon, with a rich background that spans four decades as a teacher and sign language interpreter in Northern Virginia. After earning her MA Degree in Deaf Education from Gallaudet University in 1977, she developed her photographic talents, initially focusing on black and white portraits and quilt photography for her local quilt guild. This journey led to the co-authorship of her first book, "Quilts of Virginia 1607-1899."
Since relocating to Ashland in 2010, Barbara has embraced the stunning landscapes of Oregon, producing nine acclaimed photography books through Schiffer Publishing, featuring contributions from over 50 fellow photographers. Currently serving as president of the Southern Oregon Photographic Association, she remains actively engaged in the local photography community. Beyond photography, Barbara enjoys traveling, quilting, and cherishing moments with her grandchildren, reflecting her diverse interests and commitment to both her craft and family.
