Barby Schacher is a Western pastel artist whose award-winning work draws on a lifelong connection to ranch life and the American West. Raised around ranch horses in Idaho’s Clearwater River Valley, she creates detailed, expressive paintings shaped by the land, animals, and stories she knows firsthand. Schacher is a Signature Member of Cowgirl Artists of America and an Associate Member of Women Artists of the West and American Plains Artists.

Her original pastel paintings feature horses, cattle, and wildlife, portraying the character of Western life, from working ranch scenes to the untamed outdoors. Created with artist-quality pastels and pastel pencils, her works are available in framed and unframed formats, with selected pieces ready to hang. The website presents available originals, award-winning paintings, and collections devoted to horses, cattle, and wildlife.

Schacher also shares resources and insights for artists and collectors through blog series on her creative process, art supplies, and Western art in homes.
