Bar JP Safaris operates Tequesquite Ranch, an 8,200-acre exotic game hunting ranch in South Texas. Founded in 2018, the business carries forward the ranch’s long tradition of hunting and Texas hospitality, offering guests an opportunity to hunt exotic wildlife in a setting inspired by the African safaris that shaped founder Jack L. Phillips’s vision. The property spans Maverick and Kinney counties and features a game-proof fence, a hacienda-style ranch house, expanded lodge accommodations, and a meat-processing building.

The ranch is home to fourteen exotic animal species, including kudu, addax, lechwe, blesbok, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, gemsbok, wildebeest, zebra, fallow deer, axis deer, and blackbuck. It also maintains a herd of more than 600 scimitar-horned oryx, a species endangered in its native Chad; Phillips donated animals to support efforts to strengthen the population there. Bar JP Safaris offers exotic game hunts, with species lists, pricing, packages, and hunting specials available to prospective guests.
