Barr Ochsner

Barr & Ochsner is an art-focused business based in Basel, Switzerland, with offices and an exhibition space at St. Alban-Vorstadt 35. Its new location marks a focus on provenance research, an area of growing importance in the international art market, while also providing a place for people to encounter and discuss art. The company presents selected works through exhibitions developed in collaboration with Galerie WOS. These shows are planned as smaller, thematically focused presentations, with information shared through the gallery’s website and newsletter.

The opening exhibition brings European avant-garde painting into conversation with American postwar art, tracing connections between European Cubism and Abstract Expressionism. Featured artists include Pablo Picasso, Louis Marcoussis, Albert Gleizes, Jean Crotti and Mario Sironi, alongside American artists Franz Kline, Mark Tobey and Sam Francis. Barr & Ochsner’s activities combine a commitment to provenance research with the presentation of significant works and the organization of focused exhibitions. Visitors can arrange to see the exhibition by appointment. For enquiries, the company can be contacted by email or telephone.
