Barselambassadørene

Barselambassadørene is a support service for women experiencing physical or emotional challenges during pregnancy and after childbirth. Its volunteer ambassadors are women with personal experience of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period, trained to offer peer support through caring, confidential conversations. The service aims to help women feel heard, understand their experiences and find information and guidance that can support their wellbeing and future health.

Women can talk with an ambassador about concerns such as birth injuries, pelvic floor problems, breastfeeding and pumping, mental health, or uncertainty about what is normal. The ambassadors share their experiences respectfully and can help women consider where to seek further support. They do not replace healthcare professionals; their role is to offer understanding and practical guidance from a peer perspective.

The organisation also provides online information and resources, including a knowledge bank, a pelvic floor portal, material about breastfeeding and mental health, personal stories, research and facts, and a podcast.
