Baseline Protocol is an open source initiative launched under the OASIS Open standards body and the EEA Community Projects program. It offers a comprehensive set of tools and libraries that empower enterprises to synchronize complex, multiparty business processes while maintaining privacy and without exposing sensitive information on shared databases or blockchains. By leveraging zero-knowledge circuits, Baseline ensures that all participants in a networked business process can maintain their own systems-of-record in a verified state of consistency.

While public blockchains are recommended, they are not mandatory for implementation. To ensure the widespread adoption of the protocol, Baseline is managed by various organizations, including OASIS and the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance. The Project Governance Board (PGB) and the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) oversee the development and integrity of the protocol, with representation from nonprofit organizations, multinational companies, startups, and the stakeholder community.
