Basement Comics Pressing is a comic and magazine pressing service established in 2015. The company helps collectors improve the appearance, collectability, and saleability of their books through careful, non-invasive treatments. Its signature cold-press process is designed to reduce or remove pressure indentations, spine tics, and creases that do not break the cover’s color. The service also addresses spine roll, warping, and waviness that may result from storage, reading, aging, or moisture. Basement Comics Pressing emphasizes that it does not use heat to press books.
Additional services include gentle cleaning to remove pencil marks and grime, as well as spine-roll removal. The company notes that pressing may improve a book’s appearance and potentially support a higher grade, though outcomes depend on the item and its condition. It does not accept comics or magazines with black mold on the covers or interior pages, or with brittle or loose pages. Customers can review testimonials and gallery examples, complete an online pressing form, or contact the business directly to discuss service.
