Basement Watchdog is a trusted brand that offers a range of innovative products designed to protect your basement from flooding and provide homeowners with peace of mind. The brand was founded by Alan Schulman, who recognized the need for a battery backup system after seeing customers return marine batteries used for backup sump pumps, disappointed that their basements had flooded due to improper maintenance. In 1989, Alan introduced the Basement Watchdog Big Dog (AC/DC) system, which monitors battery, pump, and power conditions, alerting homeowners when maintenance is needed.
Word quickly spread, and Basement Watchdog became a household name. Today, the brand offers three battery backup systems, the Big Dog (AC/DC), Special, and Emergency systems, as well as energy-efficient sump pumps and combination pump systems. With a commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, Basement Watchdog continues to lead the industry in protecting basements against flooding
