Base One

BASE1 is a dive logistics and training centre based at Cala Gonone harbour in Sardinia’s Gulf of Orosei. With more than ten years of experience in the cave systems of the Supramonte plateau and the gulf’s springs, the team supports recreational, technical, cave, rebreather, sidemount, scientific and professional diving. Qualified instructors from multiple agencies provide training at all levels, including Global Underwater Explorers courses such as Fundamentals, Cave 1–2, Sidemount and DPV Cave.

The refurbished dive base offers classrooms, showers, equipment work and charging areas, Wi-Fi and a space for divers to meet. Services include guided cave, shore and shipwreck dives; diver transport and surface support; tank hire and gas fills; and rental of Suex DPVs, dashboards and navigation systems. A fleet of RIBs provides platforms for dives, classes and larger projects. BASE1 also hosts workshops in areas such as underwater photography, cave surveying, mapping, scientific diving and rebreather techniques, and supports the Phreatic citizen-science project.
