Basketball Players' Union

Basketball Players’ Union is a French trade union representing professional basketball players, both women and men. Its work focuses on protecting, defending and representing players’ individual and collective interests, while helping them understand their rights and responsibilities and prepare for life after their playing careers. The union serves members across professional basketball and visits clubs and training centres to stay connected with players and their working environment.

Its services include legal support, tax assistance, psychological support, training and career-transition guidance, and help with works council matters. The union also supports collective bargaining, facilitates peer experience-sharing and hosts webinars. Players can access information through its news, frequently asked questions and calendar, and can join the organisation to benefit from its services and member partnerships. Recent initiatives highlighted by the union include engagement on athletes’ mental health and collaboration with European player organisations. Basketball Players’ Union also shares updates about the French basketball scene and offers members partner benefits, including discounts through a renewed partnership with PUMA.
