BauDirNatur is a nature-focused garden initiative led by Daniel Jakumeit and the BauDirNatur team, encouraging people to support native plants and wildlife in their own outdoor spaces. Its central message is that gardens, balconies and other plots can contribute to biodiversity through practical, manageable changes. The brand offers the “Lebensraum Garten” brochure series, comprising three booklets with 70 pages and 60 projects, as well as practical mini-tip brochures featuring projects for creating more wildlife-friendly gardens.
The materials include step-by-step guidance, photographs and ideas on topics such as helping insects, choosing useful plants, supporting butterflies and hedgehogs, and establishing a wildflower meadow. BauDirNatur also provides nature-garden consultation and planning, talks, guided tours, display boards and downloadable resources. Its advice emphasizes native plants, varied garden structures and choices suited to local light, soil and climate conditions.
Through its publications and educational activities, BauDirNatur helps people make their gardens more natural, sustainable and welcoming to wildlife, while offering inspiration for effective conservation close to home
