Stiftung Bayerisches Naturerbe is a conservation foundation dedicated to protecting Bavaria’s natural heritage and preserving its native plants and animals. Working in connection with the LBV, it supports practical, long-term nature and species conservation across the region. A central part of its work is purchasing ecologically valuable land to safeguard important habitats. The foundation also funds projects focused on protecting species and biotopes, supporting scientific research, and providing environmental education and education for sustainable development.
Its featured initiatives include habitat acquisition in the Saußwassertal, monitoring of threatened bird species such as the Great Snipe and White Stork, bat research, nature-friendly public green spaces, and environmental education in the Franken Jura. The foundation aims to act quickly and with minimal bureaucracy, helping conservation efforts continue independently of fluctuating grants and donations.
People can contribute through donations, endowments, donor loans, or by establishing a foundation. The organization also provides information on legacy giving, tax considerations, and its work, along with personal guidance for prospective supporters.
