Building Blocks Childcare Centres is an early childhood education provider in Medicine Hat, Alberta, offering childcare in a caring, play-based environment. Guided by its mission, “Educating Through Love, Laughter, Friendship and Family,” the centres aim to help children prepare for the world around them while supporting each child’s individual development.

The program balances structured, unstructured and routine activities with child-led, educator-guided experiences. Through play and exploration, children are encouraged to develop curiosity, creativity, confidence, problem-solving skills and positive relationships with peers and adults. Educators tailor support to children’s interests, abilities and developmental needs, fostering emotional, social, intellectual and physical growth.

Building Blocks emphasizes inclusion, belonging and respectful relationships with families. Children are welcomed to share aspects of their cultures and everyday lives, while staff create safe, responsive spaces where they can express themselves and learn together. The organization lists centres in Medicine Hat’s Crescent Heights, Southlands and Southview communities, and provides information about its programming, enrollment, fees, preschool and junior kindergarten.
