Bbultramarathon

The Baltic Barefoot Ultramarathon (BBPU) is an exhilarating annual event that invites participants to experience the stunning coastal beauty of Latvia through a series of barefoot running challenges. Scheduled for August 25, 2018, the event features three distinct distances: a 53 km route starting in Mazirbe, a scenic 34 km stretch from Kolka, and an 11 km course beginning at Ģipka. Each route offers runners a unique opportunity to embrace nature, with many participants expressing joy in the refreshing sea breeze and the vibrant atmosphere created by fellow runners and supporters.

The BBPU is not just a race; it embodies a sense of community, where every runner feels welcomed and valued. Beyond the competition, there's a focus on health and relaxation, as participants often join training sessions on sandy shores leading up to the event. Nutritional delights, like the famous finish-line fish soup, and shared camaraderie make the BBPU a celebrated highlight in the Latvian running calendar, ensuring that everyone leaves with fond memories and a desire to return.
