BBYRA Archives

The Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association (BBYRA) is a 501(c)(3) organization with a long history of sailing and yacht racing in the Barnegat Bay area. Its archive website documents the association’s activities and helps preserve the maritime history of Toms River and Barnegat Bay. Working with the Barnegat Bay Maritime Museum, BBYRA is collecting and organizing historical materials, including documents contributed by members and others.

The archive offers information about trophies and awards, member-club trophies, sailboat fleets, and championship-series race scores. Visitors can explore race records by decade, with results and related information spanning the association’s history from 1914 onward. Annual document indexes bring together materials associated with individual sailing years, although the site notes that some records have not yet been archived. It also provides historical information about member clubs and fleets, along with archive search tools and a one-design scoring program. Through these resources, BBYRA supports access to yacht-racing records and the preservation of the region’s sailing heritage.
