BCAF

Bucks County Academy of Fencing (BCAF) is a privately run fencing club established in 1981. With locations in Lambertville, New Jersey, and Hatfield, Pennsylvania, the academy welcomes participants from age eight through adulthood, from beginners and recreational fencers to athletes pursuing high-level competition. Its community-oriented environment brings together fencers of different ages and experience, including a notable group of veteran fencers aged 40 and over.

BCAF offers instruction and programs in foil and épée, supported by certified, experienced coaches. Options include beginner lessons, training groups that build technical skills, competition training groups focused on speed, timing, distance, and tactics, and a high-performance program for selected athletes competing at divisional, national, or international levels. The academy also runs “A Taste of Fencing,” a three-week introductory course with one 60-minute class per week, allowing newcomers to try the sport without a long-term commitment. BCAF presents fencing as an engaging way to develop agility, balance, focus, reflexes, and confidence while enjoying exercise and community. Its year-round programs serve more than 200 active students.
