About BCBT group
The Biomass Conversion and Bioprocess Technology (BCBT) group is dedicated to advancing the bioeconomy by developing innovative solutions. Their mission is to support the transition to a more sustainable future, where resources are used consciously, the environment is preserved, and needs are met efficiently and responsibly. The BCBT group works on a range of projects that aim to accelerate the development of a bioeconomy.
They are currently focused on boosting the production of biodegradable plastics, developing alternative technologies for ethanol and pullulan production, and creating sustainable processes for biomass fractionation. Additionally, they are involved in projects related to the production of food ingredients from microalgae, cellular agriculture, and the design and application of microbial consortia for enhanced biomanufacturing.
