Bridgewater Country Club is a golf and dining destination in Fort Erie, Ontario, serving the Niagara Region and Western New York. Designed by renowned golf course architect Stanley Thompson and built in 1925, the club was originally known as Erie Downs Golf and Country Club. Its history includes hosting the Ontario Open in 1933, won by Sam Snead, and again in 1993.
The 18-hole course follows natural terrain, with meandering streams, mature trees, four par-three holes and a mix of left- and right-turning doglegs. It offers varied challenges for golfers of different ages and skill levels. Members can access tee-time booking and membership services, while visitors can explore the course and arrange a round.
The club’s restaurant and dining rooms are open to the public year-round, with views of the finishing holes and a covered patio available in summer. Bridgewater also hosts weddings, private events and celebrations, offering an intimate dining room overlooking the ninth and 18th holes, along with event booking and planning assistance.
