About Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia
The Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia, also known as The Society for the Protection and Preservation of Black Culture in Nova Scotia, is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Black Culture. Incorporated in 1977, it is governed by a provincial Board of Directors comprising representatives from various Black communities in Nova Scotia. The Centre, funded in part by the Government of Nova Scotia, was established in 1983 to meet the needs and aspirations of the Black Communities in the region.
It offers a wealth of educational and cultural experiences, including music, plays, concerts, workshops, lectures, guided tours, and outreach programs throughout Nova Scotia. In addition to these events, the Centre provides rental facilities for presentations or meetings.
