The VOKE Békéscsabai Vasutas Művelődési Háza is home to the Körösparti Railmen’s Concert Wind Orchestra, a prominent musical group in Békéscsaba, Hungary for almost 70 years. With a rich repertoire, the orchestra showcases traditional Hungarian marches, entertaining musical works, as well as classical concert and concerto pieces in their performances. Established on July 25th, 1948, after the Second World War, the Railmen’s Wind Band quickly became a regular presence at city events and country festivals, creating a vibrant community around them.

For rehearsals, the VOKE Railway Cultural Centre and Library has provided a welcoming space for the band since 1976. In 2004, the Railmen’s Wind Band merged with the Körösparti Junior Wind Band under the name Körösparti Railmen’s Concert Wind Orchestra, expanding their musical reach. Led by accomplished conductor Csaba Döge, the orchestra has received numerous accolades, including a first-place finish at the BEGA FEST International Wind Band Festival in Serbia, and a gold ranking of concert band degree.

Comprised of talented musicians, including students, music teachers, and amateur performers, the orchestra dedicates their free time to preparation, competitions, and performances. As a valuable cultural institution, the VOKE Békéscsabai Vasutas Művelődési Háza serves as the caretaker of this remarkable musical ensemble
