The British Columbia Chapter of The Wildlife Society (BCTWS) is a professional society for wildlife biologists and other wildlife professionals working in the public sector, private sector, and academia. Incorporated under British Columbia’s Societies Act, it connects people interested in the conservation and management of wildlife and wild habitats across the province. Its goal is to build a community of practice for wildlife professionals in British Columbia, while supporting the next generation through scholarship opportunities and student engagement.

BCTWS brings together members from government, industry, non-governmental organizations, and academia through annual conferences, newsletters, and professional connections. Its events include conferences, webinars, and training, including a wildlife immobilization course. The chapter also promotes science-based wildlife management by providing expert advice and advocating to decision makers and user groups. Through WildCAM, it supports a network of researchers using camera traps to study and conserve wildlife across western Canada. BCTWS is affiliated with The Wildlife Society, an international organization that supports wildlife professionals through networking, learning, and career development.
