About BDA
Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) is a government agency established to oversee the physical planning and development in Bintulu Division of Sarawak. With its formation in 1978, BDA became the central body responsible for coordinating and implementing development projects in the area, driven by the discovery of significant natural gas and oil reserves offshore. Covering a vast area of 12,752 square kilometers, including a 5 km offshore region, BDA's designated area comprises Bintulu District and Tatau District.
Their goal is to create a model of inclusivity, liveability, and sustainability, aiming to become a low-carbon industrial hub by 2030. BDA offers a range of services to support the community, such as public consultation statistics, online services, tender notices, and career opportunities. They also provide information on accommodation, transport, shopping, medical facilities, education, and places of interest in Bintulu.
Through strategic investments, BDA strives to achieve economic prosperity, social inclusivity, and environmental sustainability in the region
