About Biološko društvo "dr Sava Petrović"
Biološko društvo dr Sava Petrović (BDDSP) is dedicated to enhancing educational and scientific research in the field of biology and ecology, as well as promoting scientific research and preserving biodiversity and the environment. Established in 1997, the society aims to showcase the interest in science, particularly biology and ecology, in the southern region of Serbia, where there was no independent Faculty of Natural Sciences or a biology and ecology department in Niš at the time. Founded by biologists from southern Serbia, many members of the society have become renowned scientists in Serbia and beyond, making significant contributions to the establishment of the biology and ecology department at the University of Niš.
In addition to scientists, the society's activities also involve students who gain valuable experiences and develop an interest in science through various activities. BDDSP is an independent scientific-professional organization that brings together professionals engaged in teaching biology, biological research, or the practical application of biological findings
