The European Network of Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authorities (ENCASIA) is a pioneering organization established in January 2011, dedicated to enhancing aviation safety in Europe and beyond. Formed under Regulation (EU) No 996/2010, ENCASIA focuses on improving the standards of safety investigations across member states by fostering cooperation among some of the world’s most reputable safety investigation authorities and aviation experts.

ENCASIA’s mission involves a wide array of activities, including the development of training programs, promotion of best practices in safety investigations, and the establishment of resource-sharing mechanisms. The establishment of the European Mutual Support System (EMSS) exemplifies ENCASIA's commitment to mutual assistance, ensuring effective responses to air accident investigations.

Through collaboration and the sharing of experiences, ENCASIA not only plays a crucial role in investigating accidents but also provides invaluable insights to EU institutions on aviation safety matters. Funded by the European Commission and its members, ENCASIA continues to work towards a safer aviation landscape through ongoing engagement and support among its network members.
