The initiative recognizes three key participants: activators, who set up operations on the beach; chasers, who contact these activators from home or other locations; and sponsors, who support the activations. Participants can engage from any beach worldwide, with over 30,000 beaches already cataloged, often sourced from environmental protection agencies.

The program offers endless possibilities for activating the same beach multiple times, with no restrictions on travel methods or power sources used for the stations.
