Bead and Proceed | Christchurch is a social enterprise that focuses on educating individuals about the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through creativity. Through their workshops and Bead & Proceed Kits, they inspire action towards these goals. Since their launch in February 2019, they have had nearly 10,000 participants attend their workshops or purchase their kits.

Bead & Proceed offers tailored SDG workshops and consulting services for businesses interested in increasing their impact. They have already worked with a variety of organizations, including councils, universities, professional service firms, schools, and businesses in the agriculture and tourism sectors. The Bead & Proceed Kit is their flagship product, which caters to 7 people.

During the creative activity, participants paint and make a 5-beaded necklace, keyring, or bracelet that represents the top 5 SDGs they want to contribute to. This tangible tool helps anchor their learning and encourages innovative ideas to achieve their chosen goals. For every kit purchased, another kit is donated to a low decile school or community organization, spreading awareness of the SDGs.

The SDGs are global goals that aim to address major societal issues by 2030. Bead and Proceed recognizes the lack of awareness and engagement surrounding these goals and aims to change that by providing informative and engaging experiences.
