About Beartooth Trails
Beartooth Trails is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Red Lodge, Montana. Founded in 2002 as the Beartooth Recreational Trails Association, it was organized to continue operating the Red Lodge Nordic Center and promote non-motorized trails in Red Lodge and along the Beartooth Front. The organization works with the U.S. Forest Service, the City of Red Lodge, Carbon County, private landowners, and other partners to create and maintain local trails.
Beartooth Trails offers access to winter and summer trail experiences, including Nordic skiing at the Red Lodge Nordic Center, additional ski trails and instruction, hiking routes around Red Lodge and on the West and Main Forks, and biking opportunities. Visitors can find information about trail options, fees and passes, and events through the organization. Beartooth Trails also invites the community to support its work through donations, volunteering, and a trail supporter sticker program. Donations help sustain its efforts and are tax deductible. The organization shares news and updates through its newsletter and provides information about its partners and activities online.
