Beaver Galleries

Beaver Galleries, established in 1975, was Canberra's premier privately-owned commercial art gallery, celebrated for showcasing a diverse array of contemporary Australian artists, both renowned and emerging. Over its nearly five-decade run, the gallery gained a prominent national presence, organized dynamic exhibitions, and regularly participated in art fairs across Australia. It featured three spacious galleries and a dedicated print room that displayed exceptional works in painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and glass.

In addition to its impressive art displays, Beaver Galleries housed a courtyard sculpture garden and a shop offering quality products from selected Australian designer/makers. As a family-run establishment under the leadership of Martin and Susie Beaver, the gallery became a vital part of the cultural landscape until its planned closure on December 1, 2024.
