The Black Economic Council of Massachusetts (BECMA) is a pioneering organization dedicated to advancing economic equity and prosperity for Black-owned businesses and communities across Massachusetts. Founded in response to a critical report highlighting the racial wealth gap, BECMA advocates for inclusive growth through strategic partnerships, innovative programming, and robust support systems.

BECMA focuses on four key pillars: Entrepreneurship, where it empowers founders with the necessary capital and services to launch and scale their ventures; Placement, aimed at placing individuals in skilled workforce roles; Ownership, which fosters initiatives to boost home purchases and equity; and Commerce, creating an effective ecosystem for market engagement.

The council also fosters a collaborative membership community that includes Black professionals, businesses, and ally organizations, ensuring a broad support network. Through its targeted efforts, BECMA not only addresses immediate economic challenges but also drives long-term sustainability and empowerment for the Black community in Massachusetts.
