Bee Meadow Farm is an 86-acre rural haven in eastern Ontario dedicated to caring for adopted and rescued animals. Founded by two animal lovers, the farm began with a pregnant pig and grew into a home for a diverse group of animals, many of whom were unwanted or had experienced abuse. Bee Meadow Farm describes itself as a not-for-profit endeavour, rather than an animal shelter. Its purpose is to provide its resident animals with a loving home while inspiring compassion and educating people about humane treatment.
The farm shares information about its animals, news, events, helpers, and happy endings through its website and blog. Supporters can contribute to animal care by making donations, sponsoring an animal, purchasing merchandise through the shop, or giving items from the farm’s wish list. The farm says that money raised or donated goes directly toward caring for and feeding the animals, while much of its operating costs are covered personally by its founders.
