BeeOsphere

BeeOsphere is a volunteer association based in Vélizy-Villacoublay, France, dedicated to protecting local bees and preserving biodiversity. Founded in 2012 in response to concerns about declining bee populations and environmental loss, the association promotes practical action and respectful coexistence between people and nature. Its work began with a first hive at the former Saint-Denis church and has since grown to six apiaries across the municipality.

BeeOsphere brings together members, professional beekeepers and supporting businesses to develop knowledge and hands-on skills in apiculture. Weekly workshops give members opportunities to learn and share experience, while the association’s educational activities include presentations for schools and participation in public fairs and events. It also provides information about bees, beekeeping equipment, hive components, honey-room tools and threats such as Varroa mites and Asian hornets. Through its apiaries, workshops and outreach, BeeOsphere helps people discover the lives of bees and understand the importance of biodiversity. The association welcomes people interested in joining its community and contributing to local conservation efforts.
