Begin Anew

Begin Anew, Inc. is a Baltimore-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating, motivating, and advocating for healthier, stronger communities. The organization uses education to help change behaviors, reduce stigma, and support informed decision-making, with a focus on public health and wellness. Its initiatives address substance abuse, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, food insecurity, and disease disparities, providing education and essential services to individuals and communities.

Begin Anew also works to strengthen leadership in marginalized communities and build partnerships that connect people with support and resources. Its Johnny Overdose Initiative seeks to save lives by reducing stigma around substance use. The organization’s workforce development program offers training in leadership, resume writing, interview preparation, professional presentation, and employment support.

Each year, Begin Anew hosts a World AIDS Day Community Celebration honoring people affected by HIV/AIDS and remembering those who have died. The event also connects attendees with HIV testing, PrEP information, referrals, and opportunities for positive change. Donations support the organization’s community-focused work and services.
