RK Begraafplaats St Agatha

R.K. Begraafplaats St. Agatha is a small, historic Catholic cemetery on Veurse Achterweg in Leidschendam. Set amid greenery and sheltered from the surrounding development, it offers a quiet place to remember loved ones. The site’s history reaches back to the 14th century, when a chapel dedicated to Saint Agatha stood on the raised ground known as Sint Aagtenbergje.

The cemetery provides burial options, information about grave types and rights, and guidance on purchasing or reserving a grave and arranging services through its manager. Ashes may be interred in the urn garden or in a private grave; there is no scattering area. Visitors can consult the cemetery’s maps, photographs, tariffs, rules and regulations, historical information, and notes about its stained-glass windows. The grounds are open from sunrise to sunset. The cemetery also shares practical notices and holds an annual prayer service and blessing of graves and urns for All Souls’ Day, inviting families and other visitors to remember those who have died.
