Behavior Interventionists

Behavior Interventionists of Puget Sound (BIPS) provides applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other behavioral or developmental needs. The practice offers individualized support designed to help children build skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and participate more successfully in everyday social settings. Services include assessment, one-to-one intervention, parent consultation, and ongoing supervision by the clinical director. Treatment plans are tailored to each child and may take place at home, in the community, or at school.

BIPS uses play-based approaches alongside naturalistic teaching and discrete-trial instruction to engage children and support learning. Its evidence-based interventions emphasize skill acquisition, functional communication, and replacement behaviors, while encouraging parents and other caregivers to develop confidence using behavioral strategies.

The practice is led by Michael “Mikey” Hayes, MA, BCBA, LBA, who has experience supporting children with autism and other developmental disorders, as well as consulting with families and schools. BIPS lists Regence, First Choice Health, and Managed Health Network among its accepted insurance providers and serves families from its Mountlake Terrace, Washington location.
