Compassionate Community Care

Compassionate Community Care (CCC) is a Canadian organization that supports people facing chronic illness, end-of-life concerns, social isolation, or questions about care. Its confidential, free, Canada-wide helpline offers guidance to individuals and families seeking information about life support measures, navigating a chronic care or end-of-life journey, or addressing concerns about a loved one’s care. CCC also provides training to help people support others in their communities.

Its “Being With” program builds confidence in visiting older adults and other vulnerable people who are suffering, isolated, sick, or dying, with sessions available in person or virtually. Patient Advocacy Training helps participants develop the skills and confidence to advocate within the healthcare system, including through volunteer training sessions. For older adults aged 55 and up who may be socially or physically isolated, the Seniors Calling Service arranges regular phone or video calls with a friendly person.
