About Beirut Heritage Initiative
Beirut Heritage Initiative is an independent and inclusive collective dedicated to the restoration of Beirut's built and cultural heritage. In the aftermath of the devastating blast that occurred on August 4, 2020, this initiative has been actively working towards preserving the historical essence of the city. With approximately 1,000 historical buildings damaged, Beirut Heritage Initiative aims to safeguard the tangible and intangible heritage of Beirut and actively participate in the capital's reconstruction.
They offer a range of services to support their mission, including a Restoration Manual, specialized videos, and presentations. They also collaborate with partners, produce reports, and provide assistance to owners or tenants in need. By donating, volunteering, or purchasing valuable items from their collection, individuals can contribute to the restoration efforts and create significant change in the urban heritage of Beirut.
