Belcanto is a contemporary Portuguese restaurant in Lisbon’s historic Chiado district, led by chef José Avillez. Combining the atmosphere of old Chiado with a forward-looking approach, it offers a distinctive gastronomic experience shaped by Portugal’s history, regions, people and ingredients. The restaurant has two Michelin stars, three Repsol Suns and was ranked 42nd on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Guests can choose the Belcanto tasting menu, which traces the restaurant’s culinary development, or order à la carte. Both options reinterpret Portuguese culinary traditions through carefully selected, high-quality local products. The experience is supported by warm, attentive service and an extensive wine cellar featuring more than 350 selections. Around 80 percent of the wines are Portuguese, alongside bottles from international regions, including sparkling wines, Champagne, whites, reds, Port and Madeira.
